Everything here is educational. It's written to help you ask better questions — not to diagnose you, and not to replace an evaluation.
Information, Not Medical Advice
The guides, newsletters, and pages on this site are general educational information. They are not medical advice, and they can’t account for your history, your imaging, your goals, or the exam findings that actually drive a recommendation. Whether any treatment is right for you depends on your diagnosis, your goals, and the current evidence — that’s a conversation, not a checkout.
Always seek the advice of a qualified physician or other health provider with any questions about a medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you read here.
No Physician–Patient Relationship
Reading this site, subscribing to the newsletter, or sending a message through it does not create a physician–patient relationship with Dr. Burman or the practice. That relationship begins only when you are formally accepted as a patient and evaluated in person.
In an Emergency
Orthobiologics & Emerging Treatments
This practice is built on evidence over hype, and that applies to how these therapies are described here. Orthobiologic treatments — such as platelet-rich plasma and bone marrow concentrate — are areas of active research. For many musculoskeletal conditions, these therapies are not FDA-approved, the evidence continues to evolve, and their appropriate role differs from patient to patient.
Where this site describes what a therapy may do, that language is deliberate: it reflects the state of the evidence rather than a promise of a result. [attorney review of regulatory language]
Individual Results Vary
No outcome is guaranteed. Recovery depends on the diagnosis, the tissue involved, your overall health, and how consistently rehabilitation is carried through. Any timeline, statistic, or example on this site describes what has been observed in research or in practice generally — not what you should expect.
The Newsletter & Education Library
- Newsletter editions reflect Dr. Burman's reading and clinical thinking at the time of writing. Evidence changes; older editions are left as published rather than quietly revised.
- Evidence-confidence labels (high, growing, early) are an editorial judgment about the strength of the underlying research — not a rating of whether a treatment suits you.
- References are provided so you can read the source material yourself, and are not endorsements of any product or manufacturer.
